Pit & Fissure sealants:

The use of pit and fissure sealants provides a physical barrier that inhibits microorganisms and food particle accumulation, preventing caries initiation and arresting caries progression in Permanent first molars, followed by second molars, show the highest prevalence of caries. The management of occlusal caries on permanent molars represents a significant challenge because the onset of caries occurs soon after they erupt into the oral cavity. The effectiveness of pit and fissure sealants depends on their long-term retention.

Fluoride Applications:

Fluoride application is a dental treatment that involves applying a concentrated fluoride gel or varnish to the teeth to strengthen tooth enamel and prevent tooth decay. Fluoride application, whether through toothpaste, mouthwash, or professional treatments, strengthens teeth, reduces cavities, and reverses early decay by promoting remineralization and inhibiting plaque bacteria.

Extractions:

A dental extraction is necessary when a tooth is severely damaged, decayed, or infected. Sometimes, a tooth may need to be extracted due to overcrowding or alignment issues. Pediatric dentists are specially trained to perform extractions on children of all ages and can safely and effectively remove the affected tooth.

Pulpectomy:

A pulpectomy is a dental procedure that involves the removal of the pulp tissue from a tooth. A pulpectomy is usually performed on primary teeth (baby teeth) or immature permanent teeth.

Why is a Pulpectomy Necessary?
