What are Clear Aligners or Invisible Braces?

Clear aligners, often referred to as “invisible braces,” are a modern orthodontic treatment designed to straighten teeth without the use of traditional metal wires or brackets. They are custom-made, thin, transparent plastic trays that fit snugly over your teeth.

Think of them as a more discreet, high-tech version of the classic metal braces.

How do Clear Aligners or Invisible Braces Work?

Instead of pulling teeth into place with wires, clear aligners use incremental pressure.

  • Custom Mapping

    Using 3D imaging, a dentist or orthodontist maps out the precise movement of your teeth from their current position to the final desired result.

  • The Series

    You receive a series of trays (usually 10 to 30+ sets). Each tray is slightly different from the last.

  • Gradual Shift

    You wear each set for about 1 to 2 weeks. As you progress through the series, your teeth move tiny fractions of a milli meter at a time.

Care To Be Taken While Using Aligners

Though clear aligners or invisible braces are the most comfortable, there are certain guidelines to be followed while using Aligners

  • You have to wear the aligners for at least 20-22 hours a day. Your aligner should be removed only while eating and drinking

  • Remove your aligners while eating and drinking, specially hot beverages

  • Brush and maintain oral hygiene, make sure to brush your aligner the same way

  • Keep them safe in the box as given to prevent them from getting dirty
